| A Gathering Of Celtic Musicians & Dancers To Feed The Hungry |
We welcome you to the Thistle
Society of New Mexico website
and specifically to our Celts For
The Hungry page. You may
wonder what this Festival is
really all about? First and
foremost, we recognize the
many needs of our communities.
One such need is the feeding
of the hungry around us. We go
through our daily lives and the
biggest portion of these people,
we never see. They are most of
the time, not those we see
standing on the streets asking
for a handout in order to spend
the money on alcohol or drugs.
Rather, they are the families
down on their luck or those who
are between jobs and need help
to get back on their feet.

numerous shelters or in their car
and unable to buy food or gas.

bet it can!! All it takes is for
events in your life to change
dramatically and viola! It is
because of this that we've
chosen to help our local shelters
with the burden they carry and
even more so now that the
economy is struggling. It has
been our intention to do this
before Thanksgiving because of
the added numbers in need at
that time.
We represent the Celtic Tribes
and what better way to benefit
the hungry than to sing and
dance for a good cause. Ceilidh
anyone? At the same time, one
can enjoy some very good family
entertainment in the form of
Celtic music. Can you say six,
yes six hours of continuous
music. With admission being an
advance ticket ($7.00) and at
the door($10.00), there is no
reason not to come and have
fun for a good cause. What
could be more important?
